Introduction to Literature

EN 2600 online introduction to literature was a great course where I was able to discover various aspects of literature including critical reading, analysis, and evaluation of fiction, poetry, and drama. Through reading various works within the test, participating in class discussions, completing homework and quizzes as well as essays, this class has helped me progress my critical thinking skills while reading the works of authors as well as in my writing. With these skills, I feel that I can better appreciate the works of authors worldwide. The file that I have uploaded is a copy of my analysis of a play in the dramatic arts called "Death Knocks" written by Woody Allen. In this paper, I used a formalist critique method to analyze the aspects of literature in the dramatic art genre to highlight Allen's use of plot, characterization, and theme within his play. The reason why I chose to upload this essay is because I felt that it best illustrated the important aspects that I have learned in this course about in the world of literature.
